Human Rights Respect Policy

Our company employs people with a wide range of backgrounds. Furthermore, a diverse group of colleagues work as part of the IG Group overseas as well. In light of our company's circumstances and the need to fulfill our corporate social responsibility in accordance with international frameworks, we have established our Human Rights Respect Policy. Based on this policy, we will respect human rights and contribute to the realization of a sustainable society.

 

Human Rights Respect Policy

 

1. Basic Concept

・We support and respect the following international standards and address human rights issues:

     ・Universal Declaration of Human Rights (1948), International Covenant on Civil and Political Rights (1966), and International Covenant on Economic, Social and Cultural Rights (1966)
     ・the Fundamental International Labour Organization Conventions as stated by the ILO Declaration on Fundamental Principles and Rights at Work and its Follow-up (1998)
     ・UN Guiding Principles on Business and Human Rights (2011)
     ・OECD Guidelines for Multinational Enterprises (2011)

We comply with the laws and regulations applicable to the countries and regions in which we conduct business activities.
・In the unlikely event that a conflict arises between laws and regulations and international standards, we will fully respect international standards possible.

2. Basic Policy

Scope of Application
This policy applies to all officers and employees of Igarashi Electric Works Ltd. and its group and affiliated companies.

・Human Rights Due Diligence
 We will establish a human rights due diligence system. Through this system, we identify negative impacts on human rights related to our business and work to prevent or reduce them.

・Remediation
 We will work to remedy the situation through appropriate procedures if a negative impact on human rights arises through our business, or if it becomes clear that we were involved in this through business partners under transparency supply chain.

・Education
 We will reflect this policy in necessary procedures so that it will take root in all our business activities, and we will provide appropriate education including workplace posters, e-mails etc., and training to our employees so that this policy will be understood and effectively implemented.

・Dialogue and Consultation
 We will draw on our independent, external human rights expertise and engage in consultations with those involved in Igarashi regarding our response to potential and actual human rights impacts.

・Disclosure
 We will disclose the progress and results of our efforts to respect human rights through our website, etc.

・Collaboration with Business Partners and Suppliers
 We share the importance of respecting human rights with our business partners, suppliers, contractors, and other stakeholders, and expect them to act in accordance with this policy. We aim to build a sustainable supply chain through collaborative improvement efforts.

・Promotion of Diversity and Inclusion
 We respect the human rights of all people, regardless of gender, age, nationality, race, religion, disability, sexual orientation, gender identity, etc. We strive to create a work environment that is free of discrimination and exclusion, especially for those in socially vulnerable positions.

・Human Rights Promotion System
 Our efforts to respect human rights are led by the Sustainability Promotion Department, working in cooperation with each department. With the involvement of management, we strive to ensure continuous improvement and effectiveness.

・Human Rights Impact Assessment and Improvement
 We regularly evaluate the results of our human rights due diligence and revise our policies and countermeasures, as necessary. This allows us to continuously prevent and mitigate adverse human rights impacts.

・Human Rights Reporting and Consultation System
 We have established internal and external channels to receive concerns and reports related to human rights. We ensure anonymity and privacy protection for whistleblowers and provide a safe environment for reporting without retaliation. Reports are appropriately investigated, and any necessary action is taken.
